Food banks and food rescue organizations are plentiful in Long Beach. Here are a few that offer regular volunteer opportunities.
Food Finders
Food Finders is a regional food rescue organization. Individuals, families, businesses, and organized groups are welcome to volunteer. Many opportunities are available for persons who are ready and able to devote their time to the process of food rescue–with options for short-term and long-term commitments. Greater Long Beach Mutual Aid Network
Hosting bi-weekly distributions on first and third Tuesdays, GLBMAN is a group of anti-capitalist community members who believe in providing direct support to their neighbors. They practice "solidarity, not charity" and work to meet community needs like food and baby supplies.

Christian Outreach in Action
COA has daily meals and pantry food distributions in the morning and afternoons at their 3rd Street location near Downtown Long Beach. Help with sorting or distribution daily. They can be contacted at (562) 432-1440. More info can be found on their website before signing up.

Long Beach Community Table
LB Community Table offers daily opportunities to volunteer sorting donations, doing pickups, dropoffs, packing for homebound delivery, and admin support. Call them directly at 562.548.0774 or visit their general website.

Long Beach Rescue Mission
LB Rescue Mission offers hot meals daily for lunch and dinner and offers regular volunteer opportunities at those times on Pacific Ave. Attending a volunteer orientation on the Second Saturday of the month at 9am is required before volunteering.
